Monica Shupikai Simmons is Head of Private Capital at RMB – Rand Merchant Bank, London where she leads debt and equity capital raising from global institutional investors. Monica has 15+ years of transaction experience in the US, UK, Europe and Africa, leveraging her extensive global relationship network of investors and acquirers. Monica has expertise across all sectors, however she is a sector specialist in FinTech and Climate/ESG transactions. Monica mentors at Europe’s leading incubator, SETsquared (UK), and she regularly writes articles and speaks at conferences on the topic of fundraising and M&A, aimed at founders. Previous roles include launching the Africa practice at ICON Tech Investment Bank, London and senior leadership roles at Deloitte and PwC in New York and London, working in corporate finance and financial advisory. Monica, a native of Zimbabwe, has an MBA from the University of Oxford, a bachelor’s from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
